So we got this question from Sam yesterday, and she asked us, how many calories do you need to eat to lose weight.
And it’s quite a common question, and I thought I’d answer it for you now.
There is no one size fits all when it comes to how many calories you should eat to lose weight.
The one thing I will say, is it’s probably a lot more than what you think.
The majority of our clients eat between 1,700 and 1,900 calories a day and still lose weight, and that weight that they lose will stay off.
It’s unfortunate because you can put your current goals, your current weight, your age, into an app like my fitness pal and it would tell you to eat 1,200 calories a day.
I can tell you now, that if you’re eating 1,200 calories a day it’s too little, and the weight that you lose will not stay off when you don’t sustain eating 1,200 calories a day.
That’s why I’m on a big mission to make sure that you eat as much as you possibly can and still lose weight. Because there’s no need for you to starve yourself.
Because after all, when you lose weight, surely you want to be as strong as you possibly can be, rather than being weak, tired, frustrated, fed up, and constantly hungry.
So, if you are one of these that’s eating 1,200 calories a day to lose weight, I’m urging you to stop.
I’m urging you to start trying to eat a little bit more, so you can feel better and still lose weight in a safe sustainable matter.
So, in that way, it not only comes off but it stays off.
